An excellent, excellent book. Good choice, Cat. My favorite...hmm, that's a tough one. I'd say my favorite is probably still To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Though, Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood is a pretty close second. As of now, anyway.

Oooooh, my teacher told me I should read To Kill a Mockingbird! If both of you liked it that much, I think I should check it out. Harper Lee... a friend of Capote? I think she helped him write In Cold Blood... or Lee was present during the sentence of Smith & Hickock. I don't remember lol, but I had to read that over the summer.

Yes, Lee was a very close friend of Truman Capote. The character "Dill" in TKaM was actually based on him. She did not, however, help him write In Cold Blood. Research, yes. Write, no. There is some speculation that Capote actually helped (or authored entirely) Lee write TKaM, though it's never been substantiated, and I, quite frankly, think it's bullshit. It's a wonderful book. I highly recommend it.

Ah, I see. Meh, if anything, I bet Lee was just influenced by Capote.

My favorite book at this time is....I'm not sure, i read alot. I guess, if I really had to choose, it would be the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. And my favorite of those would be Dead Beat. Their pretty good, in my opinion. Check them out if you like sci-fi books. There's nine total so far.

Excellent book and a quick read.

Bob Dylan's "Chronicles, Vol. 1" is really good, though a tad bit hard to follow at times. But that's just Dylan for you. I'm not sure if it meets your criteria for class, but I really enjoyed it.

lol I ended up reading Machiavelli's most ...(in)famous work. ^^' I suppose it helps with history this year.
hmmmm favorite genre... i like philosophy, but when a writer composes an essay, she usually incorporates her philosophy in the paper. Soooooo maybe it's more accurate to say I like tragedy or books with objectivism themes
