Is poetry dead? Does anyone care? What about you? Tell us about your favorite poems & poets!!!

My English teacher is obsessed with poetry, and, although we technically shouldn't be covering poetry in our composition-based class, we "just have" to spend at least one week on it. So, naturally, we started with Eliot. While I find his poems incredibly difficult, I can't help but love them. And, hey, I can understand a FEW of the allusions in the poems.

So far we've read "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" and "The Wasteland." @_@

Poetry is ... well, dying. Not completly gone, but heading in that direction.

and I absolutely adored guys that are into peotry, you know the ones that sits in corner of starbucks and just scribbles away.
