It seems you either come across rapid Kagome No0b fans who foam at the mouth when they hear about her, defend her subjectivly 'till their hands get sore, or you get people who are unfair and outright bash her in every way.
Personally, I never found her appealing because her look and personality is nothing from her creator new and has become something to expect from Rumiko, but I don't dislike her. I think Kagome is strong in her own right- but often annoying.
I know many people say she is way different in th Manga than Anime, but I read the Manga before I saw the Anime and still wasn't too interested. Not as large of differnce as everyone claims. However, she can also be interesting and one great source for comedy relief. The biggest peeve I have with the girl is the fact of how she so unrealisticly ajust to everything.
What about you?

As I remember, I disliked Kagome generally because she was the "realistic" character in a fantasy when in fact she became overly "unrealistic". From chaos comes order, I guess. /:

"Once the viewer gets beyond the glossy facade, though, the cracks will make themselves apparent. Protagonist Kagome Higurashi is a glaring stereotype in a sea of glaring stereotypes; she's your average ordinary high school girl, just like every other main character in shows like this. Her family, especially her Cliff Clavin-esque grandfather, are a lot more amusing than she is, but we don't get to see much of them. Kagome's destiny lies in the past, with magic, demons, and the hunt for the shards of an ancestral sacred jewel. That's right-- once again, we get to see the schoolgirl go through the tunnel back in time (territory that Takahashi explored, with much greater and more immediate effect, in the grossly underrated Fire Tripper)."
I find that pretty harsh on the girl. O.O from an anime review. I figured it was only fans who were annoyed by her(an I'm not even that much). O.o''

The truth hurts. Although that is rather harsh, I admit I was nodding a few times.

I'm personaly nutral. I don't care if she is bashed, but if it's too much I may "stick up" for her. I do like a good fanfic with her in it or the anime/manga parts, but too much is enough. If you read fanfics alot, most that are centered on her either bash her, or make her a "power house" and it gets really annoing to have to read those after a while. If you go by the anime and manga perseptives, she is supposed to be and Indepented, Naive, modern, "goody tow shoes", high school student. Now don't get me wrong, I like her well enough, but she does get dull, boring, annoying, and whiny. If she saw Inuyasha talking to kikyou, she'd sit him and cry first, ask questions way to late. She is /very/ sensiteve. come on, would you get angry if your only answer was 'feh' because they don't want to talk about something personal, that is a tough topic to talk about? She would. Just to point out a few things.

The comments on this thread make me mad a bit.
I'm a big fan of Kagome and it gets me mad how you people hate her.
Even though she and Sango are like good friends.
I always see Kagome fans who respect Sango, but here you guys are just being... mean.
I never found Kagome annoying because I watch the anime Japanese version, you cant just judge a character by there english dubbed voice. Never the less, I like Kagome, I read the manga and I saw great development. I dont care how far from the beginning it was, I still saw it and thats what matters.
I feel like Im loosing respect for those 'overrated' WARRIOR CHARACTER, but I have to admit I love characters like Kagome who are STRONG by there hart and will.
Gnist, and I don't get how that was harsh.
I mean if you hate her so much then why even watch the series? She is indeed the protagonist, way more important than Sango, the truth hurts.
You people complain over the fact that she gets jealous when Sango also gets jealous. But no one ever blames her. Which gets me pissed.

First of all, we do not hate Kagome. If you actually read our posts you would see we are mildly stating a preferance for Sango and a slight annoyance with Kagome. Kagome may be one of the protagonists, but she is not the only protagonist. What antagonizes Kagome? High School, Boys, and hunting for the jewel shards. Now, what antagonizes Sango? The loss of all her friends and family, trying to save her little brother who is technically dead, but being controlled by the being that killed her clan. She also has a perverted womanizer of a boyfriend to deal with. So yes, Kagome has it "hard" , but really, are her problems worse than Sango's? No. No they are not. Second, we are not being mean. We are being opinionated. It you don't like it, stop reading and stop posting, 'kay? We are apart of a message bored founded for a cross over pairing. And guess what? Kagome isn't one half of that pairing. Sango is. We all like sango and we all like the Hiei/Sango pairing. THAT'S WHAT THIS BOARD IS FOR. Please, if what I've said has offended you, cry a river, build a bridge and get over it. To all our regular posters I must apologise for this out burst and I apologise for the one above it. Thank you for your time. ;D
