Sorry if this seems too private ... I'm just bored out of my mind and procrastinating from writing a comparison/contrast outline. College is in plain sight for most of us (or it's already passed). So I'm wondering, what do YOU look for in a college or university? If I can heighten my ACT and SAT scores, I'm going to apply early (not for anyone to misinterpret what I say; I'm only a junior, but I'm going to finish high school lol). So maybe I'm a bit paranoid. Hehe. Tell me your thoughts on college and what to look out for! ;D

I'd like to have a college either close to my grandparents or my aunt, but I'd also like it to have a good falculty and corses on Japanese language/kanji and a good psycology/phylosophy class, maybe a extra ciricular swimming team.

psychology/philosophy courses? lol those are totally different (unless you get technical and look at some similarities ... in which case... hmmm ... i guess they could be related). do you like both? i loooove philosophy, but psychology isn't something that would interest me. Ehhhh. Location. I would like to be close to my grandparents, but I could really care less about being close to my parents. I love my state, as boring as it may be, & I also love my parents, but I cannot *wait* to get out of this house.

Yes I like both. Philosophy has always been my thing(Must be 'cuz I'm Sagittarious, lol.), and Psychology is very......... intresting. Lol, well that makes two of us, however I have a wide world view and I'd like to not be thrown into the vast jungle of society just yet. Besides, I've heard the tigers are vicious out there.

so what philosophies do you like?
Psychology is too iffy for my tastes. :/ I'm doing my research paper on Edgar Cayce...and about how he was wrong. ^^' So that's my example.

It's hard to pin point a few when I've yet learned as many as I will. I like those that focas on time, not what will happen, or has happened, but time itself, I also like the "If you kill a butterfly in the past" philosophy it's intresting.

Oh! Well check out the Greek philosophers first. ~Thales: "Know thyself." ~Heraclitus: "Change is constant ... No one can step in a river twice." ~Socrates: ...XD Don't get me started on ol' Socrates. ~Plato: ...or Socrates' student. Just look up "The Cave". ~Aristotle: "A friend is another self." etc.
I've only had a taste of philosophy, but next year I'm studying a full year of ancient philosophy. It should be very rewarding. =) It's cool that you're interested!

Who's your favorite Greek philosopher? I love Parmenides, but he's only a taste of the later stuff. =D Hmm, and Xenophanes has some very interesting concepts for an early Greek...not the best poetry, though. ^^'

Nice to find a kindred person of the philosophy persuasion.

True enough, but people are aloud to share similar ideals and philosophies.

oh, they can overlap, but since no one person is alike, all philosophies & thoughts are different.
